According to police, the assistant manager of a Burger King in South Carolina was detained after she allegedly handed customers French fries that had been in the garbage can.
Jaime Christine Major, 39, was charged on Monday with felony food tampering for allegedly stealing French fries from the garbage and adding them to the container where freshly cooked fries are kept, then dumping freshly cooked fries on top.
On July 9, the Union Police Department responded to a reported disturbance at the fast food restaurant, according to Fox Carolina.
They discovered two ladies screaming at restaurant employees, threatening them, and using profanity.
When the women refused to calm down at officers’ request, they were both arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, police.
Two days later, Burger King headquarters called the cops to report that Major had been serving fries from a garbage can.
Following an inquiry, a warrant was issued for Major’s arrest.
According to the State, if convicted, she may face up to 20 years in prison.
Her bond was set at $20,000 by a judge.
According to the State, she was still being held at the Union County Detention Center as of Tuesday.
