Ten months after the bodies of two 22-year-olds were discovered in a burning car in New York City, a suspect is said to have been detained.
According to law enforcement sources who spoke to PIX 11 on Tuesday, Jahmel Sanders was detained in connection with the murders of Nikki Huang and Jesse Parrilla, who were friends, in May 2022.
Sanders, 30, and Steven Santiago, 34, were previously identified by New York City police as suspects in the deaths of Huang and Parrilla.
On May 21, 2022, the two friends were discovered dead in Parrilla’s burning Honda, close to Split Rock Golf Course in the Bronx.
They were so badly burned that it took days to figure out who they were.
“He was photographed in the car by someone. My son’s bones were visible “The New York Post previously heard from Michelle Morales.
An autopsy revealed that Huang and Parrilla both had fatal gunshot wounds.
