The Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) recently announced a special initiative for drivers during the Islamic New Year holiday.
Parking fees at Mawaqif parking lots and the Musaffah M-18 truck parking lot will be waived from Friday, July 21, until 7:59 AM on Saturday, July 22.
On Friday, July 21, there will be no tolls in addition to the parking being free. It’s important to note that toll gate fees will resume on Saturday, July 22, from 7 AM to 9 AM and 5 PM to 7 PM during peak hours.
The ITC has asked motorists to refrain from parking in prohibited areas and from engaging in any actions that might impede traffic. Additionally, it’s crucial to park properly in designated spaces and to stay away from residential areas between the hours of 9 PM and 8 AM.
Federal employees will receive a holiday to celebrate the Islamic New Year, the UAE government had earlier announced. The federal government will be closed on Friday, July 21, in observance of the Hijri New Year.
