Islamabad Police Issued Traffic Plan – 26 November 2022

Prior to the Haqeeqi Azadi March headed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) arriving on Saturday, November 26, 2022, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has released information on the traffic plan. In light of the fear of an attack on PTI Chairman and Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who has already survived a botched assassination attempt on 3 November 2022, the authorities have reportedly sealed off some routes for security reasons.

Islamabad Police Issued Traffic Plan – 26 November 2022

On November 25, 2022, at 10 PM, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) announced through Twitter that Faizabad Bus Station will be blocked till the conclusion of the political party event. Islamabad Police announced on Twitter that “the entry of public transit would be stopped at this point due to safety precautions.”

According to the authorities’ Islamabad Traffic Plan, Murree Road in the direction of Rawalpindi has been closed to traffic during the political rally. Additionally, according to the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), traffic will continue to be prohibited from IJP Road, 9th Avenue, Junction in Islamabad to Rawalpindi. However, commuters will have access to alternative routes thanks to the authorities

Additionally, according to the authorities, it is now illegal to carry any kind of firearm inside the city borders of Islamabad, including those that are legally permitted. ITP noted that the suspension would last for an additional two months. Additionally, only the designated routes will be allowed to be used for political rallies, and anyone found to be violating these routes will face legal consequences.

یہ پابندی مزید دو ماہ تک جاری رہے گی۔

سیاسی ریلیوں کو مقررہ کردہ روٹ ہی استعمال کرنے دیا جائے گا۔

روٹ کی خلاف ورزی کرنے والوں کے خلاف گرفتاریوں سمیت قانونی کارروائی عمل میں لائی جائے گی ۔⬇️

The Red Zone Entry and Exit from Express Chowk and NADRA Chowk are closed, according to earlier statements from the Islamabad Traffic Police. As an alternative, commuters can use Serena Chowk, Ayub Chowk, and Margallah Road. All other roads in Islamabad will continue to be open in the interim.

Diversions placed at Faizabad for both sides of traffic on Murree Road.

Alternatively, old airport road and stadium can be used to enter Rawalpindi from Islamabad.

Yesterday, it was reported by several sources that Islamabad authorities plan to close off entry into the federal capital after 7PM from the following points:

  • M-2 Motorway
  • Koral Exchange
  • Faizabad Interchange
  • 26 Number Chungi
  • T-Chowk

However, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) denied these reports.
