Today, Ishaq Dar, the federal minister for finance and revenue, received a visit from Donald Blome, the United States ambassador to Pakistan.
Dar extended a cordial welcome to the US envoy and expressed gratitude for the country’s longstanding, strong bilateral ties with the US on the trade and economic fronts.
The finance minister also provided the ambassador with an update on the successful staff-level agreement reached with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and discussed the government’s economic priorities and policies in order to get the economy moving from stability to growth.
Blome expressed confidence in the government’s plans and initiatives to make the economy of the nation sustainable. Additionally, he pledged to support efforts to strengthen the two nations’ economic, investment, and trade ties.
Aside from discussing topics of mutual interest, the two sides also discussed ways to strengthen their current bilateral ties.
The finance minister reiterated the government’s desire to further strengthen bilateral economic and trade ties with the US and expressed appreciation for the US’s support and cooperation.
