In the most recent ranking of the world’s top ten technological superpowers by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI), Iran surpasses Japan.
Iran ranked ninth overall in the ranking to forecast the top 10 future world powers and was one of the top five nations in six of the forty-four technologies examined by ASPI’s new Critical Technology Tracker.
The country ranked fourth, behind China and the United States, and far ahead of Japan, Italy, and the United Kingdom when the number of publications, citations, and the Hirsch Index for cutting-edge aviation engines, including hypersonic engines, were examined.
According to ASPI, Iran is also ranked among the top four nations in the world for research into smart materials, biofuels, and new technologies that are entering the market and may change the course of the business.
For many years, Iran has been regarded as one of the world’s leading producers of science. The Critical Technology Tracker, on the other hand, has gone beyond basic research to focus on critical performance indicators of scientific and technological capabilities, identifying nations that have an advantage in this metric across the 44 technologies.
