The iPhone 15 Pro Max appears to be Apple’s next flagship device, with the so-called iPhone Ultra possibly being delayed until 2016. The iPhone 15 Pro Max, the largest and most feature-rich model in the lineup, has the potential to stand out on our list of the top smartphones and establish new benchmarks for subsequent models.

Although we don’t anticipate significant variations from the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the reported enhancements might all add up to a really stunning phone. Apple is expected to double down and improve Dynamic Island. A strong new A17 Bionic chip, a periscope zoom camera, titanium construction, and other improvements could be present.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max rumors are all detailed in the following paragraphs.

iPhone 15 Pro Max

Release Date:

We may anticipate Apple releasing the iPhone 15 range in the fall, with September most likely to be the launch month.

The family’s leader will probably be the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which is positioned to compete with products like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and maybe the Google Pixel 8 (which might possibly go on sale in October).

Price:

The pricing of the iPhone 15 Pro Max has not been the subject of any credible rumors, but we believe it will be comparable to the iPhone 14 Pro models. Hence, the beginning price for a base 128GB model is $1,099/£1,199/AU$1,899, while the highest price is $1,599/£1,749/AU$2,769 for a 1TB device.

According to an early report, the price of the iPhone 15 Pro would increase by $100. But it could merely be to match price increases for the iPhone 14 models in the U.K. and other countries in the U.S. In light of the suspected upgrades Apple is allegedly making to both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, analyst Jeff Pu is the most recent to forecast a price increase for the iPhone 15 Pro.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max won’t be cheap, though. But, that is to be anticipated for a pure flagship phone, and in terms of pricing, it would likely compete with the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which has a starting price of $1,199 in the United States. Apple will need to convince customers to pay more for an iPhone 15 Pro Max if costs increase.

Design and Display:

It’s unlikely that Apple will make significant changes to the Pro lineup’s overall appearance, let alone the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The Dynamic Island will almost probably continue, maybe with some minor adjustments, better functionality, and support for third-party apps; particularly since it’s expected to be included in all iPhone 15 models.

Anticipate the panel to remain 6.7 inches in size and to have an LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen of the iPhone 15 Pro Max may receive some tweaking from Apple to increase brightness and color, and the company may also be making the tiniest smartphone bezels ever.

One more significant alteration may be found on the edges of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, according to certain speculations, which claim a departure from the iPhone 12’s flat edges and a return to curved sides. The huge iPhone could be easier to carry, according to one theory.

This idea gained credibility because it allegedly obtained pictures of the iPhone 15 series’ front glass panels, which demonstrate how the screen’s edges might be slightly curved.

Moreover, titanium may be used for the chassis of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. This would result in a stronger but lighter iPhone Pro Max, which would be a great improvement and move away from stainless steel edges, which, at least in our experience, are readily chipped.

Moreover, solid-state buttons with haptic feedback are expected to replace moving parts on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The iPhone 15 Pro Max, according to a fresh rumor, will reportedly utilize a solid-state button that merges two volume rockers into a single rocker that won’t move but will instead use haptics to provide physical input. These buttons would increase the flagship’s overall durability and lessen the chance of exposing the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s inside to water and dust.

Dummy units of all four anticipated models have allowed us to see these concepts in three dimensions. Although they don’t appear all that different from the iPhone 14 series, they are nevertheless distinctive enough to call for new covers.

There haven’t been many reports about the iPhone 15’s color, however, a report suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro series may come in a deep red shade.

USB-C:

Since the European Union has mandated that phones must adopt USB-C as the common charging standard by December 2024, it appears very likely that the venerable Lightning port will be replaced by USB-C connectivity on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, Apple is very likely to get ahead of that requirement with the iPhone 15 lineup.

Implementing USB-C will undoubtedly improve communication and charging. Yet, without converters and dongles, using older iPhone accessories could be a little hard; such is the price of change.

According to one speculation, Apple may require Designed for iPhone USB-C accessories, which might restrict the functionality of unapproved third-party devices with the upcoming iPhone models. This may conflict with a directive from the European Union requiring device manufacturers to use a single standard for connectivity and charging, in this instance USB-C. Given that Apple may limit the data transfer and charging capabilities for peripherals made by third parties, it may violate EU regulations regarding the adoption of USB-C.

Cameras:

Expect the iPhone 15 Pro Max to retain its primary, ultra-wide, and telephoto suite of rear cameras from the iPhone 14 Pro Max. As the iPhone 14 Pro Max is one of our top selections for the finest photography phones, we won’t mind at all.

But because Apple is said to be using a new Sony “state-of-the-art” sensor with the iPhone 15, anticipate upgrades on the sensor and software front.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max may receive a significant update in the form of a periscope telephoto lens, as predicted by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. This lens would employ a variety of optical lenses to increase the camera’s zoom range without the need for cropping or digital zooming. There could be a 6x optical zoom coming. A few years ago, periscope cameras started to appear on phones, but their popularity has since decreased. Yet they can take some really amazing telephoto pictures, as we witnessed with the Oppo Find X2 Pro. This would thus be a cool update for the following iPhone Pro Max.

The iPhone 15 Pro will reportedly include an 8P primary lens to lessen distortion in wider-angle images, according to another Kuo rumor. Yet given that Apple just switched to a 7P lens for the iPhone 14 Pro, we’re a little dubious about this fact.

According to a recent report, the iPhone 15 Pro versions may come equipped with an improved LiDAR sensor to improve performance and power efficiency. This may not only enhance iPhone battery life but also result in better portrait photographs with greater depth detection and more effective augmented reality apps thanks to improved room scanning sensors.

Specs and A17 Bionic:

The iPhone 15 Pro Max appears to be bringing in a new A-series processor, perhaps in the shape of the A17 Bionic, like many Pro iPhones before it.

In addition to increased CPU and GPU capability, smart features like Siri and computational photography will benefit from improvements in machine learning and neural processing. The new device could conceivably be produced using TSMC’s 3-nanometer technology, which would theoretically increase both its power and efficiency.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max is speculated to include 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, which would represent a substantial upgrade. Given how fast the iPhone 14 Pro Max is, this added performance is unlikely to be noticeable but may be a pleasant improvement.

The iPhone 15 may have a Wi-Fi 6E connection, according to a rumor supported by Ming-Chi Kuo.

Leaked Benchmark Scores:

Benchmarks for the iPhone 15 Pro that have allegedly been leaked demonstrate how much quicker the A17 Bionic chip maybe than both its predecessor and the finest Android phone chipsets.

The iPhone 15 Pro apparently achieved 2,317 on the single-core test and achieved a multi-core score of 6,750 on Geekbench 5. This decisively defeats the powerful Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, indicating that the next Pro Max iPhone will be a formidable device.

Battery Life:

Regarding the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s battery life, there are no rumors. Yet even if it continues to use a 4,323 mAh battery, a new 3nm chip should make it more energy-efficient.

In our test, which comprised constant web browsing until the battery died, the iPhone 14 Pro Max lasted 13 hours and 39 minutes. It qualifies for inclusion in our list of the top phone batteries. So, we may anticipate the iPhone 15 Pro Max to be at least as good.

Despite this, we’d still prefer to see a larger battery, especially since the Galaxy S23 Ultra has a 5,000 mAh battery.

Outlook:

The iPhone 15 Pro Max appears to be an excellent smartphone based on the speculations and leaks. Although it might not represent a significant improvement over the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the several incremental upgrades rumored could combine to give it one of the greatest smartphones available.

And it will undoubtedly be the greatest iPhone available in 2023. Given that the Galaxy S23 Ultra has greatly pleased us and is perhaps the phone to beat right now, it will need to be excellent.
