If you aren’t utilizing iOS Shortcuts currently, you should start right away. You may download or write scripts using the Shortcuts app to automate a variety of operations or procedures. They range from straightforward workarounds like audible battery alerts to complex operations like picture overlaying that are presently not possible on the iPhone.

We adore the Shortcuts app because it offers users a degree of freedom, control, and personalization not accessible by default, despite the fact that iPhones are already among the greatest phones available. In light of this, we decided to compile our top 7 iOS Shortcuts, which will revolutionize the way you use your iPhone.

1. Schedule a text message:

Consider scheduling a text message using personal automation in the Shortcuts app if you frequently need to send the same text, such as a group good morning email to your coworkers or a sweet good morning or good night message to your sweetheart.

In Shortcuts, choose New Personal Automation, then Time of Day to plan an SMS. Choose the time the text will be sent, press Next, and then type its contents and the recipients.

2. Eject water from your iPhone:

Ever put your iPhone in the bathroom or kitchen sink? Maybe you enjoy watching YouTube while getting ready. Even while your iPhone could be water-resistant, letting any standing water inside of it might do catastrophic harm. There is a shortcut for ejecting water from the speakers after submerging them in water, which is a good thing.

Go to Shortcuts Gallery on your iPhone’s browser, hit Get Shortcut, and then tap Add Shortcut on the next page. The Water Eject shortcut may now be used in a variety of ways.

3. Add ChatGPT to Siri:

You may expand the capabilities of Apple’s virtual assistant Siri by integrating OpenAI’s ChatGPT via a Shortcut. Make sure you have an OpenAI account in order to accomplish this.

Download the SiriGPT shortcut (opens in a new tab) and go to your profile after signing into your OpenAI account to add ChatGPT to Siri. Following that, you must copy your OpenAI API Key and then paste it into the shortcut.

4. Get custom battery alerts:

5. Overlay images:

In iOS 16, users may use Visual Look Up to remove objects from pictures. While this was a neat technique, there wasn’t much you could do with the extracted subject save copy, and paste it into another app like Messages or Notes. Without a doubt, the topic could not be superimposed on another image. Fortunately, there is a fast route you can use.

Despite its apparent simplicity, this custom shortcut is really rather complicated.

6. Automate CarPlay apps:

For those of us who drive, Apple CarPlay is quite convenient, but what’s even more convenient is automating CarPlay’s behavior using a shortcut. You may instruct CarPlay to launch a certain app, like Spotify or Google Maps, as soon as it is connected by utilizing Personal Automation.

In Shortcuts, select New Personal Automation, then select CarPlay to automate CarPlay. Next, pick Open App from the Next menu, hit Connects, and then select the CarPlay-connected app you wish to launch.

7. Cast Harry Potter spells:

If you’re familiar with your iPhone’s hidden capabilities, you already know that you can use Siri to execute four different tasks by default. The torch may be lit by saying, “Hey Siri, Lumos,” for instance. You only really have two options: Lumos and Nox to switch on and off the torch, and Accio to launch an application.

Happily, you can create spells for just about every iPhone function with iOS Shortcuts. You must first build a new shortcut before choosing the Scripting option and creating your own spells.
