Some current iPhone owners are still struggling with the battery drain they encountered with iOS 16.5 before iOS 17 launches this fall with its long list of features. Even though iOS 16.5.1 has been available for almost a month, Apple is reportedly close to releasing a patch.
While one iPhone and iPad accessory was purposefully made obsolete by iOS 16.5, some users also unintentionally experienced battery drain issues, including charging and temperature issues. Similar incidents have occurred before, and they will continue to do so. But these problems are always annoying, especially when they are unintentional.
Given that iOS 16.6 is currently in beta, affected users may not even have to wait that long. Instead, we can anticipate a fix for those who have an iPhone 8 or later in the upcoming weeks. It’s also anticipated that iOS 16.5.1 will address other issues that users have, like abrupt Wi-Fi disconnections and inaccurate weather data in the Weather app.
Even though not everyone may be having these issues related to iOS 16.5, they are at least being fixed in advance of the release of iOS 17, which will give iPhone owners a plethora of new experiences. The new StandBy mode while charging, the ability to FaceTime on Apple TV, and a Journal app that can help you gather all the important moments in your life in one place are the three most notable additions.
