On Saturday, December 10, 2022, the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi, hosted its 25th Convocation at its Korangi Creek Campus. At this year’s ceremony, the IoBM’s Silver Jubilee convocation, 1,374 graduates from many departments received educational degrees.
Governor of Sindh Kamran Tessori attended the ceremony as the chief guest. In addition to the keynote speaker, Mr. Abid Vazir, Director and COO of Cherat Packaging Limited, he was accompanied by Guest of Honor Muhammad Aurangzeb, President and CEO of Habib Bank Limited.
IoBM President Talib S. Karim commended the graduates on their accomplishments and encouraged them for the future in his welcoming speech. He cited Mr. Shahjehan S. Karim, the late founding president of IoBM, who had the idea of creating a business school that offered top-notch instruction. Mr. Talib expressed his sincere gratitude to the Board of Governors members for their ongoing support. He also recognized the effort put forward by Executive Director Sabina Mohsin.
laying the way for the institute to hold successful convocations year after year over the past 27 years. In his final remarks, he urged the graduates to treat their parents with respect and to emulate IoBM alumni who have achieved great success in the business world.
In the form of IoBM, Shahjahan S. Karim has given this country a great educational institution which has become a pride for Pakistan. Today, as you graduate from this auspicious university, it is crucial to embrace and portray the positive side of Pakistan as you step into the corporate world. The nation today needs good human beings who are educated and intellectual. It is crucial that as future leaders, you don’t get divided by ethnicity but take charge as Quaid e Azam had envisioned.
The chief guest Mr. Kamran Tessori in his speech stated that the youth are the foundation that this great nation is built. He emphasized:
Chancellor of the IoBM, Mr. Bashir Jan Muhammad, addressed the audience and shared his thoughts, saying:
I see before me the generation of the future. The founder of the nation stated that the job of building the nation lies upon your shoulders. It is time to control your destiny, dream higher and reach for impressive milestones in your career.
Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb urged the graduates to make a difference in the world by encouraging them to do the same in the future. He also advised people to constantly reflect on whether what they are doing is actually benefiting others and making their lives simpler. Although having famous occupations and being successful in your chosen fields is wonderful, one of life’s greatest blessings is developing into a nice person. He exhorted the graduating class to cultivate “Confident Humility” and to be patient, humble, and aspirational.
The Keynote Speaker, Mr. Abid Vazir lauded the graduates, noting:
You are graduating from an institution that has prepared you well for the challenges that lie ahead. You are entering a new chapter in your life in an exciting world that is full of challenges and opportunities amplified by social media and the connection revolution. The dynamic corporate world outside is open for passionate individuals, intent on carving their own paths and taking initiative. So develop your leadership skills and don’t sit back on your laurels.
This year’s graduating class included individuals who earned degrees in business administration as well as other pertinent fields. Additionally, 18 gold medals were given out to the program’s top achievers.
At the event, 38 students also received merit certifications.
