Inzamam-ul-Haq, the recently appointed Chief Selector, is set to sign a three-year contract with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which is still being finalized.
Although the announcement was made on August 7 and the team has already been chosen by Inzamam, contract length negotiations are still ongoing.
In order to ensure consistent decision-making and the development of Pakistan cricket, the former cricketer emphasized the necessity of an extended Chief Selector tenure.
If a long-term contract is agreed upon, Inzamam, who has also worked for the PCB in the past, is anticipated to give this position precedence over other obligations like league engagements.
The committee acknowledged his contributions to cricket and is said to have formalized a structured three-year contract offer with a potential monthly salary of Rs. 2 million.
The World Cup roster will be discussed during a meeting with Inzamam, Team Director Mickey Arthur, Head Coach Grant Bradburn, and Babar Azam.
After the India-Pakistan game in Sri Lanka, Arthur is scheduled to fly out, so Inzamam wants to talk to potential World Cup team members while Arthur is still available.
It should be noted that the Men in Green will face Nepal tomorrow at the Multan Cricket Stadium to open their eagerly anticipated Asia Cup 2023 campaign.
On September 2 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, the team captained by Babar Azam will take on India, their bitter rivals.
