To save electricity, Pakistani railway stations will be outfitted with high-quality solar panels. A comprehensive plan must be created to streamline Pakistan Railways in accordance with the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to the plan, 40 million rupees will be spent installing solar panels at railway stations in Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Karachi, Multan, Lahore, and Sukkur. As Pakistan runs out of resources, the goal is to conserve electricity while also modernizing the rail sector.
Three stations in Peshawar, twenty in Lahore, five in Rawalpindi, four in Multan, three in Quetta, five in Sukkur, and five in Karachi have been finalized during the project’s initial stage. Additionally, the main grid station of the Water and Electricity Development Authority will receive the extra electricity generated by solar panels.
