It is done. Paul Wesley, a cast member of The Vampire Diaries, and his wife Ines de Ramon have separated after three years of marriage, Us Weekly has learned.
“A rep for Paul Wesley and Ines de Ramon has confirmed that they have separated,” a rep for Wesley, 40, and de Ramon, 29, told Us on Monday, September 19. “The decision to separate is mutual and occurred 5 months ago. They request privacy at this time.”
Wesley’s absence of his wedding band at the Brothers Bond Bourbon event on August 23 at the Hole in the Wall in New York City’s Murray Hill area sparked initial rumours of the couple’s breakup.
Although they have kept their relationship under wraps, the two were first seen holding hands after a dinner date in June 2018, which sparked the first romance suspicions. That same month, the Tell Me a Story alum posted a snap via Instagram of himself and de Ramon seated next to Jessica Szohr and Nina Dobrev during a wedding in Montauk, New York.
The couple was photographed by the Daily Mail wearing matching rings on their wedding fingers less than a year later. Although they chose not to address the rumours at the time, Dobrev, Wesley’s former co-star on The Vampire Diaries, appeared to confirm their nuptials in a June 2019 episode of the “Directionally Challenged” podcast when she referred to de Ramon as his “wife.”
For their first anniversary in July 2020, de Ramon shared a throwback image from her wedding to Wesley on Instagram. De Ramon was photographed wearing a white gown while the former couple kissed on the beach. Since then, the entrepreneur has used social media to promote numerous pictures of the couple and their dog, Gregory.
Prior to his relationship with de Ramon, the Everwood actor was married to Torrey DeVitto, but the two called it quits in 2013. “They have decided to amicably split,” a rep for the pair told Us at the time. “They will continue to remain good friends.”
