The selection of Pakistan’s cricket team for the next T20I series against Afghanistan in Sharjah is currently being discussed by the new Selection Panel, which is chaired by Haroon Rasheed.
Azam Khan, Imad Wasim, Ihsanullah, and Osama Mir, among other players, are reportedly being considered for the team owing to their outstanding performances in the current Pakistan Super League (PSL). There is also a plan to rest some seasoned cricketers and give some inexperienced players a chance.
A regular meeting of the selection committee is anticipated to take place soon. First, the possibility of publishing a list of twenty to twenty-two candidates from whom a sixteen-player squad will be chosen is being examined. The final lineup will be revealed before to the PSL championship.
The national squad will depart for Sharjah on March 23, and the projected dates for the matches are March 26, 27, and 29. This three-match series is scheduled to begin on March 23.
Nevertheless, after taking into account the logistical factors, the final timetable will be revealed the following week. The series is being hosted by the Afghanistan Cricket Board, although both boards will split the money made from the games evenly.
The Australian squad was supposed to face Afghanistan in a series, but Cricket Australia withdrew in protest over the decision to forbid women from participating in sports, attending school, and working.
The Pakistan Cricket Board agreed to play the series at Afghanistan’s request, and the Afghan players have already begun practicing in Kabul.
