After a masked assailant fatally knifed a 15-year-old kid, a teacher fought valiantly to save his life.
After Khayri McLean was attacked just before 3 o’clock in the afternoon next to his school gates, the staff member frantically administered CPR to him.
According to reports, Khayri was attacked while being pinned down, and after being taken to the hospital from the North Huddersfield Trust School in West Yorkshire yesterday, she passed away.
Since then, a 16-year-old kid has been detained on murder suspicion, according to West Yorkshire Police.
Ruben Duncan-Keane and Alfie Wilkinson, two of Khayri’s 12-year-old companions, recounted seeing a teacher urgently administering CPR to the injured adolescent after he had been attacked.
I’m traumatised, said Ruben, who Khayri had showed around the school when he first started. I just witnessed him on the ground, trying to get chest compressions from a teacher.
“His eyed rolled back into his head and I knew at that point he’d lost his life.”
The boys had visited Woodhouse Hill to lay flowers in memory of Khayri with their mums.
Alfie said: “I didn’t get much sleep last night, I kept waking up.
“As soon as I heard the news that he’d died I burst into tears.
“He’d just started year 11 and was preparing for his GCSEs. It shouldn’t happen.
“He was a very popular guy. I never saw him without his friends and I never saw him have an argument.
“He was a great student, a great kid.
“I’m staying close to home every day just so it doesn’t happen to me.”
