On Thursday, the foldable Huawei Mate X3 smartphone was introduced in China. The new device, which is available in five colors, is the Huawei Mate X2’s replacement and debuted in 2021. The Huawei Mate X3 is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Processor and sports a water-resistant IPX8 construction, as predicted after several leaks and rumors. The device has a 4,800mAh battery powering it. It has a 6.4-inch cover display and a bigger 7.85-inch internal display. The display is protected by Kunlun glass. The Huawei Mate X3 will go up against products like the Vivo X-Fold, Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.
Price and Availability:
Pricing for the Huawei Mate X3 starts at CNY 12,999 for the entry-level model with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. Priced at CNY 13,999 for the 512GB storage capacity and CNY 15,999 for the 1TB storage model. It comes in the following Chinese-translated color options: Feather Sand White, Feather Sand Black, Feather Sand Purple, Qingshandai, and Dawn Gold.
The Huawei Mate X3’s pricing and availability in areas outside of China have not yet been disclosed.

Run on Harmony OS 3.1, the Huawei Mate X3 dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone. It has a 6.4-inch OLED (1,080×2,504 pixels) display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, an aspect ratio of 8:7.1, a pixel density of 426 ppi, and a dimming frequency of 1440 Hz. A 7.85-inch (2,224×2,496-pixel) OLED display with a pixel density of 426ppi, 1440Hz PWM dimming, 120Hz refresh rate, and an aspect ratio of 8:7.1 is housed within. The octa-core Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and 12GB of Memory power the phone.
Camera:
A 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with an f/2.2 lens, and a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto shooter with an f/3.4 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) support are all featured on the Huawei Mate X3’s triple rear camera setup for photos and videos. A single 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 lens is located on the front of the device for selfies and video calls. Users may send and receive messages using satellite networks using the new two-way satellite messaging feature that Huawei Mate X3 provides.

Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C connector for charging are all included on the Huawei Mate X3. A gravity sensor, an Infrared (IR) sensor, a hall sensor, a barometer, a gyroscope, a compass, an ambient light sensor, a color temperature sensor, and a proximity sensor are among the sensors aboard. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner is also included for authentication.
Battery and Charger:
The phone’s 4,800Ah battery from Huawei enables 50W wireless charging and 66W conventional charging. The Huawei Mate X3 has an IPX8 rating for water resistance, just like the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold.
Dimensions and Weight:
Its folded dimensions are 156.9×72.4×11.08mm, and its unfolded dimensions are 156.9×141.5×5.3mm. It measures 241 grams in weight.
