Anthony Joshua will fight Oleksandr Usyk in just a few days, making his comeback to the ring. The British heavyweight will be looking to defend his championships and get revenge on the dangerous Ukrainian after losing to him in September. The bout will take place in Saudi Arabia, where AJ will look to reclaim the heavyweight championships he lost to Usyk, a former cruiserweight, last year.
A victory over Usyk would bring AJ one step closer to unifying the heavyweight world championship. The Ring Magazine title would also be added to that list.
Joshua would have to work his way back up to the top with stunning victories over fighters with lower rankings if he suffered two consecutive defeats to the same opponent. This would be career-defining for him.
While Canelo Alvarez fell to Dmitry Bivol earlier this summer, Usyk was given the opportunity to demonstrate that his victory against Joshua wasn’t an accident and that he deserves to be ranked first among heavyweights.
