As the competition for AI supremacy intensifies, GOOGLE has finally released its own Chat GPT rival Bard.
After its massive AI-powered upgrade to Bing caused a worldwide uproar, the tech giant is racing to catch up with Microsoft.
After an early demo revealed some embarrassing errors last month, Google is quick to emphasise that the launch is just a “experiment” for the time being.
Additionally, Chat GPT has been at the epicentre of several of its own controversies.
Users in the US and the UK can sign up to use Bard right away.
However, you’ll need to get on a waiting list.
The age requirement to use it is 18.
Google is also allowing Pixel users the opportunity to test it out early.
According to the tool, text blocks are produced instantly, as opposed to Chat GPT, which types out responses word by word.
Bard also has a feature that allows users to switch between three different “draughts” or versions of any given response.
Additionally, there is a button that says “Google it” for users who want to search the web for answers.
Bard will initially only be offered in English, according to the company.
More nations and languages will be added over time.
“One thing is certain: We’ll learn alongside you as we go,” Google’s Eli Collins and Sissie Hsiao said in a blog post.
“With your feedback, Bard will keep getting better and better.”
How to try Google Bard
Anyone who wants to test out Bard can join the waiting list that Google has opened.
