Pakistanis already find it difficult to afford cellphones owing to rising currency and smartphone prices, and PTA’s outrageous fee has made matters worse for the consumers. It provides some relief to smartphone users by letting them pay the PTA certification charge over time.
Retail pricing is out of control with mid-range phones costing more than Rs 100,000 and flagships costing more than Rs 300,000 and more; the stakes are further raised by needing to pay for PTA approvals.
Thanks to a recent improvement, the general public should now have simpler access. Alfa Mall, the online store operated by Bank Alfalah, now accepts installment payments based on PTA approvals—but only for specific telephones. These phones include the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra.
The total PTA costs for these phones range from 130,000 to 190,000. However, they might be paid off in 3 to 6 months with a 0% markup. Once you’ve selected an installment payment plan and entered your CNIC and phone’s IMEI code, you’re done.
It should be reminded that the PTA clearance procedure might take 3-5 business days. In addition, the store will call you to ask for your approval.
