Managing your storage space on an iPhone can be challenging for anyone who has had one for more than a few months.
In addition to the countless photos, screenshots, and videos, there are a tonne of data-hungry apps that can fill your device with useless data.
Performance is slowed down, there are bugs, and there is less room for new files.
Thankfully, Apple has integrated a handy feature that allows you to quickly clear your device and free up some much-needed space into the Settings menu of the iPhone and iPad.
All of your photos and videos can be compressed into smaller file types and stored on your iPhone using the “Optimise” setting.
This means that all of the items in your gallery are still yours to keep, but there are no longer any large, high-res files to take up space.
You can access the highest quality online while saving space on iPhones because the full-sized files will still be stored in iCloud.
Tap iCloud and Photos after that.
Toggle “Optimise iPhone Storage” on after making sure iCloud Photos is turned on.
You’ll have to wait while the iPhone works, but once it’s done, your device will have a tonne of new space.
Simply navigate to the Settings app, General > iPhone Storage, if you need to free up more space.
You can delete installed apps by seeing all of them listed along with how much space they occupy.
