Jeffrey Dahmer, an evil serial killer, suffered a fate as cruel as that of his victims when a fellow prisoner brutally murdered him there.
In February 1992, Dahmer, who killed 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991, was given a life sentence at Wisconsin’s Columbia Correctional Institution.
However, the Milwaukee murderer would not spend much time behind bars.
On November 28, 1994, Christopher Scarver, a fellow prisoner who had entered the facility around the same time as the serial killer, bludgeoned Dahmer to death.
A 20-inch metal bar that Scarver had grabbed from the prison gym was used to beat Dahmer and another convicted murderer, Jesse Anderson, after guards had left them alone with them for around 20 minutes.
Additionally, during the attack, Dahmer’s head had been repeatedly slammed against the wall.
An hour after being found, the serial killer succumbed to his wounds.
Later, Scarver—who was then serving a life term for another murder—explained why he had carried out such heinous retaliation.
He quietly made his way back to his cell and spoke to the guard afterward: “I must follow God’s instructions, she said. Dead are Jesse Anderson and Jeffrey Dahmer.”
Scarver initially maintained that he hadn’t planned the murders in advance, but later admitted to police that he had hid the 20-inch iron bar from the weight room in his clothing just before the attacks.
In 2015, Scarver described to the New York Post how Dahmer would mock other prisoners by moulding food into various body parts and using ketchup as blood.
Scarver remarked at the time that “He would position them in places where people would be.” “He crossed the line with certain people, including inmates and prison employees.
He was not one of the repentant prisoners, though some inmates are.
After a number of “heated exchanges” with other inmates, according to Scarver, who entered the jail around the same time as Dahmer, the sick killer always had a personal escort of at least one guard.
But up until the day of the shocking massacre, he had never spoken to the mass murderer.
