
On Wednesday, the foldable Honor Magic V2 smartphone was unveiled in China. The Honor Magic V, which was released in January 2022, will be replaced by the foldable phone. An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC powers Honor’s newest foldable, which is also offered in the Magic V2 Ultimate Edition model. The phone weighs 231 grams and has a folded thickness of 9.9mm, making it significantly lighter than other foldable smartphones. Additionally, it is currently the thinnest foldable on the market.
Price and Availability:
Priced at CNY 8,999 for the Honor Magic V2’s entry-level 16GB + 256GB model and CNY 9,999 for the 16GB + 512GB model. These variations come in the colorways of Black, Gold, Silk Black, and Silk Purple.
Additionally, Honor will offer the Magic V2 Ultimate Edition, a 16GB + 1TB model with a vegan leather back and a price of CNY 11,999.
Starting on July 20, all models of the Honor Magic V2 will be sold in China.

The full-HD+ (2344 2156 pixels) 7.92-inch LTPO OLED inner display on the Honor Magic V2 has a refresh rate of 120Hz, a screen-to-body ratio of 90.4%, a maximum brightness level of up to 1600 nits, and a pixel density of 402ppi. The Magic V2’s 6.43-inch full-HD+ (2376 1060 pixels) LTPO panel has a screen-to-body ratio of 91.2 percent, a maximum brightness of 2500 nits, and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Both screens support stylus use.
Storage:
The Honor Magic V2 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which is coupled with an Adreno 740 GPU, 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of internal storage. The foldable with dual nano SIM support comes pre-installed with MagicOS 7.2, which is based on Android 13.
Cameras:
The Magic V2 has three rear cameras: a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a second 50-megapixel ultra-wide unit with optical image stabilization (OIS), and a 20-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens that also supports OIS. There is a 16-megapixel sensor in the front camera.
Battery and Charging:
The 5,000mAh battery in the Honor Magic V2 supports the same 66W Honor SuperCharge charging technology as its predecessor.
Dimensions and Weight:
The new foldable from Honor is the thinnest one yet, measuring 156.7 x 145.4 x 4.7 mm when unfolded. The Honor Magic V2, which is also the thinnest foldable phone, measures 156.7 x 74.1 x 9.9 mm even when folded. The glass finish options weigh 237 grams, compared to 231 grams for the leather back finish.

Additionally, the phone provides connectivity for 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.3 LE, GPS, NFC, and USB 3.1 Type-C. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
