Honda City 2023 Overview

Since 1981, Honda, a Japanese automaker, has been producing the subcompact car known as the City. It was initially released as a 3-door hatchback/2-door convertible in only a few locations. The second-generation Honda City was introduced in 1986, but the City designation was dropped and a new model took its place in 1994.

In 1996, the Honda City was revived as a line of subcompact four-door sedans. The Honda Global Small Car chassis, which is used to build this third-generation City, places the gasoline tank under the front seats rather than the back. Due to its early success in competing with Suzuki Margalla’s sales, the third version of the Honda City Pakistan quickly became well-known among consumers. The third generation Honda City was given a facelift in 2000, and the manufacturer continued to produce it for another three years before launching the fourth generation in Pakistan.
In 2002, the fourth-generation Honda City was introduced to the world, and in 2005, it had a facelift. When Honda unveiled the fourth generation of the well-liked compact car in 2003, the Honda City was likely given a second chance in the Pakistani market. With the debut of the twin-spark i-DSI engine-based City, the level of fuel efficiency was elevated. It gained a lot of traction on the local market and is still regarded as one of the fuel-efficient vehicles in its class. Because of its success, the business also introduced a facelift version in 2005, which was available until 2008. The car’s exterior saw some significant alterations, and the interior also underwent some subtle changes.
Since the 2009 launch of the fifth generation Honda City in Pakistan, the vehicle has undergone numerous facelifts. This particular model has been produced for more than ten years, and the manufacturer hasn’t given up on it yet. Despite the fact that there are currently no airbags available at any trim level, the Honda compact sedan continues to be popular due to its efficient fuel usage and comfortable ride. It is offered in the nation in 1.3L and 1.5L versions. Since 2009, it has undergone a number of aesthetic updates, including a new radiator grille, headlights, and taillights.
In Pakistan, the 6th generation City, which made its debut in the worldwide market in 2014 and was superseded by the 7th generation last year, in 2020, appeared in 2021. Customers in Pakistan were dissatisfied since they anticipated the 7th generation to be introduced on the local market but received the older one instead. Bookings for Honda Civics initially included some “OWN” or “ON,” but they have significantly decreased as the cost of the vehicle has risen. Five different Honda City 2023 variants—the Honda City 1.2 MT, Honda City 1.2 CVT, Honda City 1.5 CVT, Honda City 1.5 Aspire MT, and Honda City 1.5 Aspire CVT—are currently available for advance reservations.

Honda City Exterior

The design of the new Honda City 2023 is striking. It has a honeycomb grille on the front that gives it a stunning appearance. All five variations have integrated LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and premium dual-barrel halogen headlamps on the front. Front fog lights are standard on the 1.5 Aspire versions, although they are an option on the other types.

The 1.2 LS models offer a micropole antenna, while the remaining variants offer a shark fin antenna. All of the variations come equipped with cutting-edge wrap-around bulb back lights.

Honda City Interior

The cabin of the Honda City 2023 is cosy and the car is roomy. The new Honda City sports a high-grade fabric wrapped steering wheel that can be changed in tilt as well as telescopic adjustment, and push-button start technology is available in the Aspire models. The materials used for the seats, armrests, and door linings all change between variations. The interior of the 1.2 LS and 1.5 CVT variants is covered in fabric, while the 1.5 Aspire models use high-grade cloth.

While the dust and pollen air filter, steering audio switches, one-touch lane indicator, digital clock, and outdoor temperature display are available in all five variations, ECON mode is only available in the 1.5L CVT and 1.5L Aspire CVT models. The interior is all ivory, and the chairs are cosy. Impact-reducing headrests are also available in all models, and the driver’s seat height can be changed in each variant.

The 7-inch capacitive touchscreen in the Honda City 1.2 LS and 1.5 CVT models has an integrated MP%, Bluetooth, mic, rear camera ready, radio, mirror connection for Android, as well as support for USB and AUX cables. The 1.5 Aspire models, on the other hand, offer a 9-inch capacitive touchscreen powered by Android.

Two speakers are located in the front of the 1.2 LS and 1.5 CVT variants while four speakers are located in the front and rear of the Aspire models. The LS models include keyless entry with keyless trunk opening, while the Aspire variants offer the smart entry technology. In addition, the Aspire models come standard with an automatic air conditioner, rear ventilation, and electric and auto-retractable side mirrors. Contrarily, cruise control is a standard feature in every 1.5 Aspire and 1.5 CVT version. All five models come included with electronic brake distribution (EBD) and anti-lock braking systems (ABS).

Honda City Engine

The new Honda City 2023’s water-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, i-VTEC, 16-valve engine is standard across all five of its models. The 1199cc engine in the 1.2 LS models produces 110/4800 Nm of torque and 88/6000 horsepower per revolution.

The 1497cc engine in the 1.5 CVT and 1.5 Aspire models, on the other hand, produces 118/6600 horsepower each revolution and a maximum torque of 145/4600 Nm per revolution.

Honda City Mileage

The mileage of Honda City 2023 ranges from 17.8 km/l to 24.1 km/l and has a fuel capacity of 40 liters.

Honda City Ride & handling

The Honda City 2023 gives the best of driving pleasure. Honda has taken care of the overall performance and fuel efficiency in the 6th generation model which reflects while driving the car. Mated with a 6-Speed gearbox this car is more comfortable to drive in city traffic than ever before. The clutch and gearbox are butter smooth in operation.

The turbo lag is not felt anywhere during the ride. The engine feels rev easily up to 4000rpm, but above this, it starts shivering. It also lacks vehicle stability control which is a great drawback as compared to its competitors.

Honda City Maintenance

Honda City is not a new name for the Pakistani market so spare parts for Honda City 2023 are easily available all over Pakistan. Due to its long presence in the market, it is easier to get repairs and inspections by any mechanic.

Honda City Competitors

Honda City 2023 competes with Toyota Yaris, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Corolla Axio, Toyota Prius, and Mg 5 in the Pakistani market.

Toyota Corolla has always given strong competition to Honda City as both the cars have loyal fanbases in Pakistan. The new Toyota Corolla offers all the features that the Honda City 2023 offers and more. More interior space and a larger fuel tank in the Toyota Corolla trumps the Honda City’s current features. Toyota Corolla also comes with a 1600cc engine which has higher horsepower and produces more torque. Honda City dominates Toyota Corolla when it comes to fuel consumption and price range.

The Toyota Prius is also a strong competitor for Honda City due to its bigger engine and better fuel consumption. The Prius performs better both in heavy traffic and on the highway. It also has a better build value than Honda City.
