First Corporal Ghadeer Hamoud Al Kaabi, a courageous civil defense officer in Dubai, has received praise for his valiant efforts in saving 24 people, including women and children, from a deadly house fire.
Al Kaabi just so happened to be nearby when the fire started in two cars, a tent, and an annex of the house, according to Khaleej Times. The flames quickly spread due to the extreme heat. There was smoke coming from the house, but there was no indication that the occupants were reacting or making an attempt to flee.
Al Kaabi observed that no one was leaving and that the main gate was shut. He alerted the operations room immediately and bravely entered the building without waiting.
As he led the occupants out of the building and away from the dangerous fire and thick smoke, he ensured their safety. Even before the Civil Defense teams arrived, Al Kaabi gave one of the injured people first aid.
Al Kaabi expressed gratitude to Dubai Police for recognizing his efforts. He made it clear that what he was doing was simply part of his responsibility as an employee of the General Directorate of Civil Defence.
In front of other officers, Al Kaabi was presented with his honor by Major General Expert Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation.
Al Kaabi was praised by Maj. Gen. Al Mansoori for his prompt action. Additionally, he commended the entire Civil Defence team as well as the Director General of Dubai Civil Defence Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi for their efforts to ensure public safety.
