The family of a rider who was hit and carried 30 feet along the rails before being left in critical condition has released a heartbreaking update.
Shylah Rodden, 26, is in a medically induced coma and is expected to experience discomfort for the remainder of her life, according to her family.
According to the MailOnline, there are concerns that the young Australian may never talk again due to the accident’s severe brain damage.
Young Shylah‘s condition was downgraded from critical to serious, according to a Royal Melbourne Hospital spokeswoman.
Although Shylah’s injuries are still not fully known, her family has immediately started a GoFundMe campaign to help pay for her medical expenses.
Since beginning with a $250 donation for chickens a few weeks ago, the family has raised a total of $2,900 and is requesting more.
“People are under the impression that this money is just for her family. But people need to know this money is for Shylah’s recovery,” a friend said.
“This money will go towards her therapy, her rehabilitation, things they need to change around the house for showering and toilet needs.”
“Every donation will help, the cost of changing Shylah’s family’s living conditions, her rehab, her therapy – it’s all the stuff they need.”
She added: “It’s to help her and her family who may need to look after her 24/7.”
The friend also slammed “keyboard warriors” ridiculing Shylah’s past addiction with drugs.
“Shylah isn’t a drug addict, she has been in rehab for almost a year,” her friend said.
“‘But people are so concentrated on her previous car accident where she wasn’t even the driver. Her troubles were five years ago. People do change.”
“They are so awful,” she added. “It’s like people have nothing better to do.”
It was discovered earlier this month that Shylah had previously been engaged in three bizarre accidents.
The unfortunate Australian had to relearn how to walk after being in a catastrophic car accident in February 2019 and flipping her vehicle after colliding with a truck in January 2021.
Just about a week ago, Shylah was apparently attempting to retrieve a dropped cell phone when she was hit by the ride.
In front of horrified tourists, she was dragged 30 feet and propelled into the air by the Rebel Coaster in Melbourne, Australia.
She is being treated in intensive care for several severe injuries, including multiple fractures.
The family’s attorney, Aki Munir, stated that Shylah’s parents are debating whether to file a lawsuit against
On the day of her injury, Shylah was working at a friend’s booth at the exhibition.
During their break, she and her friend went to ride a couple rides.
