A MUM who passed away unexpectedly on her 36th birthday from an unidentified disease left her daughter a terrible note despite not being aware of her condition.
Two days into a vacation in Devon in August, Hayley Thompson of Burnage, south Manchester, suddenly passed away.
When she felt ill, she had only begun to open her presents. With her companion, Adam Woodhall, Hayley said she felt terrible and went back to her tent. She abruptly collapsed on the floor as she was leaving for the restroom.
When paramedics arrived, it was already too late. At Ladram Bay Holiday Park in Budleigh Salterton, Hayley experienced three convulsions before being declared dead.
Her family has now disclosed that just months before she passed away, she posted a TikTok instructing her daughter Ciana on what to do if she “died young.”
“If I die young…,” the note says. My baby can have my jewellery.
“Know that I was happy. Everyone is to wear yellow to the funeral.
“No suits or ties, I want FULL yellow suits or dresses. I want a DJ at the after party. If anyone calls it a wake you’re barred.
“Remind Kiana and Adam everyday how special they made my existence. I love my family, never forget.
“Wherever you see sunflowers I will be there.”
Her sister, Liah Thompson, said: “For the past two years she was with her partner, she was just really enjoying life. Before 2016, she used to be quite a large girl. She lost loads of weight. Because of that, she got herself to a point where she was really happy and content in her life.
While Hayley had suffered from illness in the years before to her passing, her family was unaware of the true severity of her illness.
She was referred to the hospital in 2016 when she started vomiting blood and had tests done.
Her liver was found to have scarring there, but the cause of it remained unknown to specialists.
A liver transplant waiting list should be established for Hayley after many hospital visits.
She had a strange illness, but her family was unaware that it was terminal without a transplant.
Hayley loved Disney and was regarded as having a “heart of gold” and a willingness to “do anything for anyone.” A touching video that she posted on her TikTok account just months before she passed away has also been made public by her family.
Liah, herself a mum-of-three, said: “After it all happened, we found a TikTok video saying: ‘If I die young, just know I was happy’. It’s quite heartbreaking.
“I know it’s a bit of a trend, but my sister was really thinking that. Hayley was such a lovely woman with a big heart who would go out of her way to help you whenever she could.”
In order to pay a funeral director to transport Hayley to Manchester, Liah and her family are currently trying to raise money. Her body is still presently in Devon. Additionally, the funds will be used for a funeral.
It’s been difficult, Liah admitted. It’s been crazy; it’s been like a rollercoaster. I’m still attempting to comprehend it. We just want her home because she has died away and is located all the way in Devon. I just want to get her laid to rest as quickly as I can. It makes my heart ache.
