Gunter Nezhoda, the star of Storage Wars, died at the age of 67 after a brief cancer battle.
Rene Nezhoda, his son, told TMZ that his father died in his sleep on Tuesday (March 21) in Salt Lake City as a result of complications from lung cancer.
Gunter was diagnosed with cancer in September and underwent chemotherapy, which left holes in his lungs.
Rene explained that his father had flown to Utah for emergency surgery, but doctors informed him that there was nothing else they could do for him.
Ricky, the reality star’s youngest son, was with Gunter when he died.
Rene addressed Gunter in a video, expressing hope that he has been reunited with his mother in heaven and is no longer in pain.
He said: “I’m telling you guys this because I know that you guys connected with my dad. My dad was one of the guys on Storage Wars that never really got any hate, people just loved him and being around him, including the crew.
