Police in New Mexico are looking into the death of a lady who was allegedly killed by her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend using a three-foot metal sword.
Grace Jennings, 21, died after being stabbed, according to the police, in the garage where the pair lived. Kiara McCulley, 19, and her boyfriend Isaac Apodaca were both charged with first-degree murder in connection with her death.
According to a criminal complaint acquired by the Santa Fe New Mexican, police were called by Apodaca’s mother on Saturday at around 2 p.m. to the 5000 block of Jaguar Drive where McCulley was allegedly killing a woman in the garage.
She had asked her ex-boyfriend Apodaca if she could spend the night in the garage he and his new girlfriend shared at McCulley’s mother’s house the night before Jennings’ body was discovered.
Apodaca claims that Jennings and McCulley shared a bed. McCulley instructed Jennings and Apodaca to leave the following morning.
Apodaca claimed that after leaving the garage for two minutes to use the main house’s lavatory, he returned to find Jennings dead.
McCulley allegedly told him, “I did it.” Apodaca asserted that after notifying his mother, he immediately hurried to dial 911.
Later, McCulley admitted to authorities that because she had an undetected multiple personality disorder, she couldn’t recall killing Jennings.
‘McCulley stated she was partially hopefully Ms. Jennings was dead but could not remember what happened to her,’ the complaint read.
Jennings was simultaneously romantically connected with McCulley and Apodaca, it was later determined.
Instead of confessing to his suspected involvement to the police, Apodaca informed the detectives that McCulley had been plotting to kill his ex-girlfriend for years.
However, the truth was discovered on his cell phone on Saturday, according to the neighbourhood news source.
Text exchanges between Apodaca and McCulley planning to murder the 21-year-old while she slept were found by police.
