According to a recent report, the federal government has declared that there won’t be any load shedding during the Eid-ul-Adha celebrations. To aid with this choice, the Ministry of Energy has asked distribution companies for information on power generation and use.
Citizens who have been suffering from protracted power disruptions amid extreme heat will receive respite if the administration can manage it. Power distribution firms have reported a 6,300 megawatt shortage.
Currently, there is a 26,900 megawatt total demand for power, but only a 20,600 megawatt total supply is being produced. A total of 7,900 megawatts of electricity are being produced by the national grid, with an additional 7,700 megawatts coming from independent power generators.
It should be mentioned, nevertheless, that the current problem is made worse by the fact that the amount of electricity produced by nuclear power plants is just 3,130 megawatts.
