The entire world observes Labour Day today (Monday) in a show of solidarity and respect for the rights of the working class. The purpose of this day, also known as May Day, which is celebrated on May 1 every year, is to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of workers all over the world and to begin the process of protecting them at work from all forms of exploitation.
Pakistan is also honoring Labor Day, as is the rest of the world. The prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, emphasized in his speech the significance of the labor force to economic expansion.
The prime minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to bettering workers’ living and working conditions as well as their welfare by offering them and their families better housing, educational opportunities, and health insurance.
He asserted that they found many inspiring examples of respect for the rights of the working class and the dignity of the laborer during the lifetime of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The government has raised the minimum wage for employees from Rs17,500 to Rs25,000 per month, according to PM Shehbaz, in light of the high rates of inflation and other economic difficulties.
