On May 10, the Google Pixel Fold was introduced at Google I/O 2023. The first foldable smartphone from Google is powered by the in-house Tensor G2 SoC, as expected after numerous leaks and rumors. The Google Pixel Fold features triple rear cameras and runs Android 13. It has 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. The foldable is powered by a 4,821mAh battery and has a 180-degree folding hinge. The Pixel Fold will go up against devices like Huawei Mate X2, Oppo Find N2 Flip, and Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series.
Price and Availability:
The Google Pixel Fold costs $1,799 for the 256GB storage version. You must pay $1,919 for the 512GB storage model. The phone will come in the colors Obsidian and Porcelain. For customers who buy the Pixel Fold, the company is giving away a free Pixel Watch.
In the US, pre-orders for the Google Pixel Fold have already begun, and deliveries should begin next month. Only specific international markets will sell the foldable.
During the Google I/O keynote, the Pixel 7a was also unveiled by Google. It will be offered for sale on Flipkart starting on May 11.

Display and Processor:
The 7.6-inch inner display of the dual-SIM Google Pixel Fold (1,840 x 2,208 pixels, 6:5 aspect ratio, 380ppi pixel density, and 120Hz refresh rate) runs Android 13 out of the box. It has a 5.8-inch OLED outer display that is full-HD+ (1,080×2,092 pixels), has a 17.4:9 aspect ratio, and refreshes at a rate of 120Hz. While the internal display has a plastic coating, the exterior display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It is powered by a Titan M2 security chip, 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and Google’s Tensor G2 SoC. For the foldable, Google promises five years of Pixel updates.
Cameras:
A 48-megapixel primary wide-angle lens with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), CLAF, and an f/1.7 aperture is part of the triple rear camera system on the Pixel Fold. A 10.8-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 121-degree field of view and an f/2.2 aperture, as well as a 10.8-megapixel dual PD telephoto lens with a 20x Super Res Zoom and 5x optical zoom, are also included in the camera setup.
A 9.5-megapixel selfie camera with a 1.22-micron pixel size, an f/2.2 aperture, and a fixed focus is available. Additionally, it has an 8-megapixel internal selfie camera with a fixed focus and f/2.0 aperture. Additionally, Google includes a Magic Eraser feature for removing unwanted elements from an image. The Pixel Fold comes with a 4,821mAh battery from Google that supports 30W charging. On a typical Qi charger, the foldable can also be wirelessly charged. On a single charge, the battery is said to provide up to 72 hours of standby time and more than 24 hours of playback time.
Dimensions and Weight:
When folded, it has dimensions of 139.7×79.5×12.1mm and 139.7×158.7×5.8mm when unfolded. It is 283 grams heavy.
Features:
5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, GPS, Google Cast, NFC, and a USB Type-C port are just a few of the connectivity options available. An accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, hall sensor, proximity sensor, and light sensor are among the sensors on board. For authentication, the phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. A face unlock feature is also supported by the phone. Three microphones and stereo speakers are also included. Access to Google One VPN is available.
