The upcoming Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro lineup from Google has previously been the target of leaks on numerous occasions. These leaks included information on the hardware specifications as well as the designs of the phones. We now know that these new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro successors will feature updated designs in addition to better hardware. The Google premium smartphones are anticipated to be unveiled later this year, but a new leak reveals not only the new wallpapers they will include but also the various color options or finishes for each device.
The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will be offered in a total of four new color options, according to Android Authority. There appear to be two finishes that are shared by these new color options for each phone. According to reports, the Google Pixel 8 will come in the new Haze, Jade, Licorice, and Peony finishes, while the Pixel 8 Pro will reportedly receive its own Porcelain and Sky finishes in addition to the standard Jade and Licorice ones. Although we haven’t yet seen these color options, we do know that Google won’t use any colors from earlier models again.
The source has also disclosed the pre-installed wallpapers (which will also serve as themes) in these upcoming Pixel devices along with the color options. The wallpapers do give us a good idea of what the aforementioned color schemes or finishes might look like in the end. The color options for each of them are named after a crystal or other material, with the exception of “Sky,” which appears to have been inspired by blue topaz.
The Pixel 8 may have a 6.17-inch screen with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels, according to the most recent report, while the Pixel 8 Pro is anticipated to have a 6.7-inch screen with a resolution of 2,992 x 1,344 pixels. A maximum screen refresh rate of 120Hz will be shared by both devices. Google’s Tensor G3 SoC will be the source of power for both devices.
According to a previous report on camera specifications, the primary camera on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will both be 50 megapixels and use a Samsung GN2 sensor. A 64-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 48-megapixel telephoto camera with the customary 5x optical zoom are anticipated for the Pixel 8 Pro. The 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera on the Pixel 8 is expected to have a 0.55x zoom ratio. Expect an 11-megapixel selfie camera on both devices.
