Germantown High School lockdown: Police said they received a verbal threat against a high school, and the campus is now under lockdown.
As police in Tennessee looked into the ominous threat, Germantown High School was placed on lockdown.
Fox13 was informed by Memphis-Shelby County Schools representatives that the school was on a “soft lockdown,” but they did not disclose any further details.
According to Germantown PD, their preliminary investigation has not turned up any immediate threats.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and GHS Staff are collaborating, according to GPD, to determine the veracity of this call.
Police will continue to have a “strong presence” at and near the school as they continue their investigation into the event, according to the police department.
Pictures taken at the scene showed a large police presence in front of the school.
Police are requesting drivers to stay away from the area while they look into the school.
