GEMMA After her well-known father Michael “embarrassed” her during a makeup session, Owen was left with a red face.
The Love Island actress, 19, winced as her father’s pleas to use the bathroom cut off her most recent YouTube video.
Gemma was halfway through her glam routine when football legend Michael, 43, popped in the bathroom and said he “needed a poo”.
The dressage rider said: “I’m filming a video,” to which the Michael replied: “What, so I can’t have a wee?”
Gemma joked: “You can but this is going on YouTube.”
The footie star added: “What if I needed a poo?”
The reality personality resumed her teaching while awkwardly giggling.
Gemma and Michael frequently appear on each other’s social media pages, providing followers with regular updates on their family life.
Gemma announced in December that she and her father will be taking part in a new reality programme.
She was in the early stages of negotiations to shoot an Owens reality programme this year for the UK.
“There can be a stigma when you do a show like Love Island,” Gemma told The Times.
“But there are amazing opportunities too if you can just be yourself. I wanted to do it, but only if I could just be me: plain-spoken and real. I am good at not showing my feelings if I have to.”
The adolescent businesswoman’s preparation for an international dressage competition will probably be followed on the Owens’ programme.
Gemma added: “I got to watch up close how my dad handled things when football finished.
“Normal and grounded is good. Success can quickly change or fade. Family, friends and, for me, horses, are for ever.”
Insiders attribute the couple’s separation last month on the 200-mile gap between their residences.
They had been dividing their time between Gemma’s family’s £50 million mansion in north Wales and Luca’s home in Brighton, where Luca resides.
But even though we had first spoken about moving in together, it finally got to be too much.
