According to investigators, a teenager from Washington state went from being missing to becoming the focus of a murder investigation.
The Tacoma News Tribune reports that Olympia teenager Gabriel Michael Davies, 16, went missing last Wednesday after not showing up for football practise.
Near Millersylvania State Park, authorities discovered the football player’s car. In what the police described as “strange circumstances,” Davies was discovered late on Thursday.
Around Davies’ car, police allegedly discovered a little amount of blood and a broken smartphone.
Despite the fact that the teenager was first sent back to his family, by Friday night he had been detained and was being held at Remann Hall Juvenile Detention Center.
Justin Yoon, 16, and Davies were both taken into custody. The 51-year-old Daniel McCaw died, and the kids are under suspicion.
In his Orting residence on Thursday, McCaw was reportedly found shot and stabbed to death. After the victim was absent from work for four days, police were called to the house.
Before his body was found, according to authorities, McCaw had been dead for at least 24 hours. The scene did not contain any firearms.
Charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree burglary, and second-degree unauthorised possession of a firearm are brought against both teenagers, according to the charging documents.
McCaw and Davies were acquainted, according to Sgt. Darren Moss, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office. The mother of Davies, McCaw, and Davies lived with the three of them previously, according to court records.
According to a report by FOX13 Seattle, Davies and Yoon were seen in the early hours of August 28 on surveillance tape outside McCaw’s home. According to reports, the couple used the dog door to enter the house.
They appeared to steal several things from the home, potentially even a weapon. According to detectives, Davies then showed them where he and Yoon dumped two pistols taken from McCaw’s house.
Court records also contain Davies’ father’s assertion that his son was solicited by the victim’s “‘biker buddies'” to steal something from the house in an odd turn of events.
The “particular outlaw motorcycle club,” according to the father, followed his son on Wednesday, got him out of the car, bashed his face into the car, and then “roughed him up.”
He claims that the group searched his son’s car for the stolen item.
