During an attempted robbery at a Los Angeles Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles, rapper PnB Rock was shot and killed. The Los Angeles Police Department has identified a person of interest in the case.
On Wednesday, police identified Freddie Lee Trone as a suspect and requested the public’s assistance in locating the person of interest. Trone has not been located, and police view him as “armed and dangerous.” According to KTLA, the LAPD suspects Trone was the shooter who killed Philadelphia-born rapper Rakim Allen on September 12.
In addition, Trone’s 17-year-old son was detained for acting as his father’s getaway driver. The LAPD verified to the Los Angeles Times that a woman named Shauntel Trone was also detained on charges of being an accomplice to murder.
Trone, also known as “little night owl,” has a criminal history that includes being arrested for robbery in 2002 and being charged with felony threats in 2005, according to Rolling Stone.
Allen was shot several times during the attempted robbery and taken to a local hospital where he was later declared dead. According to LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman, the victim was approached by one suspect while he was eating at a table. She claimed that the “suspect” brandished a weapon, pointed it towards the rapper, and fired several bullets. The culprit “took a few things away from the victim, got into a waiting car, and left the area.”
Emmanul Danquah, also known as South Side Chief, a Minneapolis-based media personality and videographer, made an effort to clear his name earlier this week after being falsely accused on social media of being involved in PnB Rock’s murder; Danquah and Allen had previously engaged in public arguments over Instagram Live.
