Former ICC Umpire and first class cricketer Asad Rauf Passed Away. According to family sources Asad Rauf suffered cardiac arrest. Asad 66, stood in 66 Tests, 139 ODIs and 28 T20s. Apart from this he also supervised 11 women T20 international matches.
Right-handed batsman Asad Rauf had a respectable but unremarkable career in the 1980s, with his finest year coming in 1986–87 when he scored 672 runs at 35.36, including 105 fifty-plus runs. But after that season, he lost his form and played very little first-class cricket. His first-class debut in 1998 and his first ODI in 2000 marked the official beginning of his umpiring career. In 2004, he was promoted to the ODI panel, and the following year, he presided over his first Test match. He was chosen to join the ICC Elite Panel in April 2006.
