The Pakistani Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, arrived in Goa, India, on Thursday for his first trip to the country’s neighbor.
The Council of Foreign Ministers meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which will take place on May 4-5 in Goa, will be presided over by Bilawal, who will be leading the Pakistani delegation.
Before leaving Karachi, Bilawal wrote in a tweet that his trip had shown Pakistan’s dedication to the SCO’s founding principles and membership. He continued by saying he was looking forward to having bilateral talks with the nations taking part in the international forum.
“My visit (to India) illustrates how much Pakistan gives importance to SCO and how seriously it takes the SCO membership,” he said in a brief video message.
The foreign minister expressed his eagerness to interact on a personal level with the nations that make up the global forum.
“I look forward to constructive discussions with my counterparts from friendly countries during my visit, which is solely focused on the SCO,” Bilawal said on the microblogging website.
