A ferry service between Sukkur and Rohri has been established by the district council of Sukkur in an effort to enhance local transportation and promote tourism.
To ensure that the service runs smoothly, six boats have been purchased. It positions the Indus River as a tourist destination and provides locals with an alternative mode of transportation.
The District Council Chairman discussed the initiative’s potential in a statement, highlighting its dual function in promoting the region’s scenic attractions and infrastructure development.
The district council has built rest huts along the riverbanks to enhance the experience even more by providing travelers with the ideal places to unwind.
The new service has received praise from the locals of Sukkur, who see it as a helpful addition to the region’s recreational opportunities.
Separately, on August 8, 2023, the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) opened a tertiary care facility in Sukkur.
The complex, which is situated on 27 acres close to the Sukkur bypass, cost more than Rs. 6 billion to construct. It will take care of the expanding medical requirements of the province’s rural and outlying regions.
This expansion strategy is already advantageous to the people of Larkana, Nawabshah, and the surrounding areas.
