Only hours before she was shot and killed, a woman posted a heartbreaking final picture of herself cuddling with her partner.
A few hours prior to being discovered dead at her home in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ferni Cristina Ayala Palacios, 28, posted her final photo with the words “sweetheart.”
Esteban Rojas, 44, her lover, has been named as the main suspect in her death by the authorities.
Clara, the woman’s sister, became worried when she couldn’t get in touch with her and called the police to report her missing.
Police discovered the victim’s body inside her home in the Zavaleta neighbourhood, where she had been shot twice in the chest.
She had been dead for several hours, according to forensic experts.
According to the authorities, Esteban, who had been seeing the woman for around 18 months and had been living with her for seven months, has since left the house.
After spending the evening in a bowling alley with Esteban and her two sisters, Ferni is said to have been shot dead early on February 19.
To see a band Ferni liked, the group proceeded to the bowling alley.
She posted the tragic photo at around 2 am- just a couple of hours before she was killed.
The victim’s sister alleged that Ferni became quite agitated when she witnessed the pair bickering at the bowling alley.
Esteban’s ex-wife allegedly lodged “three or four complaints” against him, according to the woman.
Clara said: “We were never suspicious of him, but she did tell us he was a jealous person.
“I never saw her with signs of violence. She distanced herself from the family when she went to live with him about seven months ago.”
Clara added that Esteban is a well-known moneylender in the neighbourhood.
As the investigation proceeds, the authorities have issued an international and national warrant for the suspect’s arrest.
