A COUNCILWOMAN was allegedly targeted outside her home and slain as a result.
On Wednesday, 30-year-old Eunice Dwumfour was shot in Sayreville, New Jersey.
Police said that Dwumfour’s body was discovered in her car to the New Jersey Globe.
After hearing gunshots, the councilwoman’s white SUV crashed, according to New Brunswick Today.
Her automobile is seen being hauled away from the scene in pictures.
According to locals, the culprit was spotted scurrying away from the crime scene.
Despite their continued investigation, police have not disclosed their motive.
However, they claimed that it seemed as though she was the target.
And no information on the weapons has been made public.
Friends have been devastated by the councilwoman’s passing.
Juan-Neila Rodriguez said: “She was an amazing friend, a woman who loved God.
“She was 30 years young and full of life. You will be missed my dear, precious friend.”
Dwumfour was also described as “full of life” by Mahnesh Chitnis.
According to News12, Karen Bebert, a member of the Sayreville Republican Organization who worked on the councilwoman’s election campaign, is “heartbroken” over her passing.
Republican Dwumfour won a seat on the Sayreville Council in the November 2021 election.
Her election triumph was viewed as a surprise.
In 2024, she was scheduled to run for reelection.
Dwumfour has held positions as a business analyst and a scrum master before joining the council.
