A lady who went missing Friday night was discovered dead in her car on Saturday afternoon in the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church parking lot on Maze Boulevard in Modesto, according to her family. Yaresli Lopez of Ceres stated on Instagram on Saturday that her mother, Erika Lopez, called her at 7:46 p.m. on Friday to let her know she would be home in about 30 minutes. The message states that “my mum never came home after two hours.” “My dad and I drove the entire length of Interstate 5 looking for her, but there was no sign.” The 1200 block of Maze Boulevard was the scene of a possible death
The 1200 block of Maze Boulevard was the scene of a possible death on Saturday around 3 p.m., according to Modesto police. A police watch commander reported that someone had been discovered dead inside the black Honda sedan that was parked in the church parking lot, and the area around the vehicle was cordoned off.
Even though Erika Lopez’s car matches the description, as of Sunday morning, authorities had not yet determined whether she was the person found or whether the car belonged to her. But Yaresli Lopez texted The Bee, “It’s my mom,” in response. She said, “The only thing I am going to say is the Ceres Police Department did not do their job and the Modesto Police Department was absolutely no help,” when asked if there was anything further she could say about the inquiry or her mother. The investigation into Lopez’s death as a homicide has not yet been publicly disclosed by Modesto police as of Sunday.
Yaresli Lopez claims that a guy has “came to our home several times trying to break in and threatening my mother and has continued to park a block away from our house,” in an Instagram post where she also names the individual. She claims that her family had previously spoken to Ceres police about the man, but that they had taken no action. My mum is currently vanished.
