After dismembering and flushing his girlfriend’s body down the toilet, a KILLER received a 70-year sentence.
In February 2020, 46-year-old Erik Francisco Robledo killed 25-year-old Ingrid Escamilla at his house in Mexico.
He received the harshest punishment a criminal may receive in Mexico after a trial that lasted more than 26 hearings and was concluded last Thursday.
According to reports, Robledo admitted to killing his young lover, dismembering her body, and flushing her intestines down the toilet after skinning and dismembering her.
Reports state that after seeing Robledo depart his home covered in blood, neighbours alerted the police.
On camera that night, Robledo is seen conversing with police while sitting in a car with a bandage over his head and blood on his chest.
He’s then heard saying he got into a heated argument with Ingrid and began to beat her.
“She said she wanted to kill me and I said do it. She took a knife and I said do it at once. She stabbed me once and I said do it stronger. And she tried two more times,” he’s heard saying.
When asked why he dismembered her body, he answered: “I did not want anyone to know.”
He added: “I used the same knife she attacked me with to stab her in her throat. I threw pieces of her dead body into the drainage system because I felt ashamed.”
The case is being handled as a femicide, according to prosecutor Nelly Montealegre, an expert on gender violence.
According to reports, Ingrid complained about her partner who is a civil engineer in July 2019 but afterwards dropped the complaints.
According to her social media accounts, she was pursuing a master’s degree in tourism and defined herself as a person who enjoys adventures, animals, and the outdoors.
The General Prosecutor’s Office of Justice in Mexico City declared following last Thursday’s verdict: “We won a sentence of 70 years in jail against Erick Francisco ‘N’ after showing his criminal responsibility in the familicide of the young woman.
