In the Emerging Asia Cup 2023 championship game, Pakistan Shaheens successfully defended their title by defeating India A.
The Men in Green got off to an incredible start thanks to the brilliant half-centuries scored by Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan. Farhan scored 65 before being sent back to the pavilion, while Saim scored 59.
Pakistan lost its way after an explosive start as they kept losing wickets. The Shaheens were able to surpass the 350-run threshold thanks to Tayyab Tahir and Mubasir Khan, who both scored magnificent centuries.
India’s response also got off to a strong start, but the seasoned Pakistani bowling attack dragged the game back as they consistently struck. Arshad Iqbal and Mehran Mumtaz each took two wickets, and Sufyan Muqeem took three to completely dismantle the Indian batting order.
Pakistan scored a huge victory by 128 runs after dismissing India for 222.
Pakistan has now won the Emerging Asia Cup twice in a row, most recently in 2019 when they defeated Bangladesh. Additionally, this is Pakistan’s second overall Emerging Asia Cup victory.
