To defend their title, Pakistan Shaheens will play India A in the Emerging Asia Cup 2023 final on July 23 at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Babar Azam, Pakistan’s all-format captain, visited the Pakistan Shaheens in the meantime to give the young Pakistani team a boost of confidence and resolve before the highly anticipated match.
The Pakistan Shaheens, who had gathered at the team hotel, were given a memorable welcome by Pakistan national team stars like Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah. Babar Azam’s special pep talk before the championship match against bitter rivals added to the surprise.
The all-format captain offered his insights, based on his experience, on how to defeat the neighboring nation and win the Emerging Asia Cup in 2023.

In his speech, the top-ranked ODI batter in the world emphasized the value of working as a team and keeping a positive attitude even under duress.
One of the players recalled that Babar “highlighted the significance of not letting the magnitude of the occasion overwhelm us and instead focusing on executing our game.”
The Pakistan Shaheens displayed exceptional talent throughout the competition, winning both of their group matches before defeating Sri Lanka in the semi-final.
Babar Azam made sure to thank his young performers for their efforts and expressed his belief in their ability to excel on the big stage.
