A platform for artificial intelligence (AI) called “Truth-GPT” will be launched by billionaire Elon Musk to compete with Microsoft and Google’s offerings.
He claimed that Microsoft-backed Open-AI, the maker of the well-known chatbot Chat-GPT, had “trained the AI to lie” and that it had since changed into a “closed source,” “for-profit” organization that was “closely allied with Microsoft.”
He also accused Larry Page, a co-founder of Google, of not taking AI security seriously.
Musk stated, “I’m going to start something which I call ‘Truth-GPT’, or a maximal truth-seeking AI that seeks to comprehend the essence of the universe, in an interview with Tucker Carlson that will air on Monday. He said that Truth-GPT “might be the best path to safety” and that it was “unlikely to annihilate humans.”
It simply began later than expected. But I’ll try to think of a third option,” Musk said. Musk, Open-AI, Microsoft, and Page did not immediately respond to Reuters’ requests for comment.
In order to start a business that will compete with Open-AI, Musk has reportedly been stealing AI specialists from Alphabet Inc.’s Google.
A state record indicates that Musk registered X.AI Corp, a business that was incorporated in Nevada, last month. The business listed Musk as the sole director and Jared Birchall, the managing director of Musk’s family office, as a secretary.
