On Christmas Eve, a beautician who was shot in the head outside a bar had just finished “singing and dancing” with her sister and some friends.
As she partied with her sister and friends outside the Lighthouse Inn in Wallasey Village, Elle Edwards was shot in the head, according to the Liverpool ECHO.
The 26-year-old beautician was not believed to be the intended victim of the attack, which also left four other males injured, according to police, who have now detained two people in connection with the crime.
Friends have since revealed to Sky News that a joyful Elle was “dancing and singing” just prior to the tragic event.
Another friend, Meg, said Elle, who worked at Nova Hair and Beauty Studio in Wirral, had been out with her sister who had gone home before the attack.
“It plays on your mind, knowing whether she should have gone home,” she said.
“I’ve got videos of us all I can’t stop watching…We were so happy. It happened so fast, I can’t get it out of my head. I wish we could have done more, but there was nothing else we could have done.”#
Jess added: “I just felt grateful that I was still here but felt guilty because I was with my family on Christmas and she wasn’t. [Elle’s family] most definitely didn’t celebrate.
“It could have been anyone – we were incredibly lucky, but it shouldn’t have been her either.”
A 30-year-old Tranmere man has been detained on suspicion of murder and an attempted murder, according to the police.
Additionally, a 19-year-old Rock Ferry woman was detained on suspicion of planning a murder.
