Another inflationary burden has been imposed on the public; Nepra has raised the price of electricity by 34 paise per unit for one month, costing consumers Rs 2 billion 90 crores.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency’s request to increase the price of electricity was approved by Nepra. The price of electricity has been increased by 34 paise per unit for one month, and consumers will have to pay the difference in their May bill.
According to Nepra, the increase will cost electricity customers, 2 billion 90 crore rupees.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency had requested a Rs 17 paise per unit increase in the March fuel adjustment.
After a hearing, Nepra approved the 33-paise increase; however, the power division has already objected to the request.
