The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (CRHC) announced on Tuesday that the crescent for the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal has been sighted in Pakistan, therefore, the Eid Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated across the country on Sunday , October 9.
CRHC Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azam made the announcement after chairing a meeting of the moon sighting committee.
Is 12 Rabi ul Awwal a public holiday?
The government has notified that the 12th of Rabi Awwal as a nationwide public holiday. According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division: “It is notified for general information that Sunday, October 9, 2022, shall be a public holiday on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (12th Rabi ul Awwal 1443 AH) throughout the country.”
The moon for the holy month of Rabi ul Awal was sighted in Pakistan on 27 September.
