On the 12th of this month, the last prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (SAW), was born. Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) is the centre of reverence for Muslims settled all over the world, so the day of his birth is believed to be very special in Islam. Eid Milad-un-Nabi or Eid-e-Milad is celebrated on the occasion of the birthday of the Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SAW). The festival is observed by Muslims around the world. It is also known as Un-Nabi by the name of E-Milad, Nabi Day, Mohammad’s birthday or the Prophet’s birthday.
Eid Milad-un-Nabi falls in the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, which is the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar and is also known as Nabid and Maulid in colloquial Arabic.
Eid Milad-un-Nabi 2021: Significance
The birthday or birth celebration of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) is celebrated as Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi. Prayers are held for the whole night on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, and processions are also taken out. On this day, Muslism read the holy words of Hazrat Mohammad. People read the Holy Quran in mosques and homes and are inspired to follow the path of righteousness as told by the prophet (SAW).
